Disco Elysium dev is looking for artists with a “love of science fiction and video games”

Disco developer Elysium ZA/UM is looking for artists with a “love of science fiction and video games” and the ability to create “off-earth environments”.

As spotted by Disco Elysium subreddit team members, job listings for the studio’s three new art positions may indicate themes and motifs that may appear in the studio’s next game.

Interestingly, RPG fans don’t necessarily think this is a huge departure for the team, though, especially given “the amount of time [the creators] Placed in Cultivation Place Elysium Disco.

A new deal between Amazon and DJ2 Entertainment could see Life is Strange and Disco Elysium adapted for film and television. Amazon recently entered into a deal with co-producer of the Sonic movie “to create and produce content that will be broadcast exclusively on Prime Video, including television adaptations of the gaming IP,” specifically including the games mentioned above.

Disco Elysium: The Final Cut was banned in Australia after its rating board refused to classify it again in March 2021 because it “perceived[s]expression[es] or otherwise dealt with[s] with matters of sex, drug use, addiction, crime, cruelty, violence, or disgusting or abhorrent phenomena in a manner inconsistent with standards of morality, decency, and decency generally accepted by reasonable adults to the extent that they should not be categorized.”

That decision was overturned the following May, with “high-impact themes, vulgar language and drug references” for the censored game guaranteeing a restricted class of 18.
