Tyler Naquin says trade with New York Mets has been ‘unprecedented’

The New York Mets sit first in Eastern National Leaguethree games to the Atlanta Braves as the organization looks to make the post-season for the first time since the 2016 season.

New York acquired their player Tyler Naquin from the Cincinnati Reds, a move that came as a surprise to the left-handed hitter.

“It was definitely surprising,” Nakin said on Friday. According to the New York Post. “I’ve heard a few things about the other teams, but every year you hear something about the trade deadline. I’m sure it’s going to start heating up here in the next couple of days for everyone.”

Naquin adds another Bat into the Mets squad And a player who can manage all three off-field positions for manager Buck Showalter.

“He’s a guy who can play all three positions on the field, a left-handed bat, a good defender and bowler and runs the bases,” Showalter said. “He can bring some things that all the clubs need. Just another piece that we can maneuver with and create a tough squad.”

Naquin has racked up .246 with 33 RBI and 7 home runs in 56 games for the Reds and is set to become a free agent after the season.

Naken, who did not play in New York’s 6-4 win over the Miami Marlins on Friday night, is now getting a chance to play for a team with post-season aspirations.

“It’s fun, man,” Naquin said, according to MLB.com. “It’s exciting news. It’s been a hiccup for the last few hours… It should be a fun ride.”

The Mets and Marlins are scheduled to play the second game of their three-game series on Saturday night at 6:10 p.m. ET.
