On Thursday morning, the Kansas City Chiefs returned to their field of practice at Missouri Western State University in Saint Joseph, Missouri, where they conducted the second full training for the team’s 2022 training camp.
For the first time this season, the audience was allowed to watch the session. Click here to find out how you can attend bootcamp training – and see the full 2022 schedule.
Arrowhead Pride Editor-in-chief Pete Sweeney was there, making remarks that were posted on Twitter — starting with one about Another cold morning in Saint Joseph.
It rained a bit for the second full team workout but it’s great. The weather was in the high sixties and low seventies. It’s always nice to have some play days, and the bosses got a normal day on Thursday.

the second day It became… the second day.
‘Orlando Brown Jr. Watch’ continued with…No Brown. Roderick Johnson continues to fill the ball on the left tackle. The Chiefs LG Joe Thuney brought to the podium after a workout.

While talking to reporters, the left guard long ago Talk about standby left processing.
Tony On Johnson: “It works really well, digging [into] Playbook, he communicates a lot, just trying to be on the same page in every play. He is a great man. Just trying to get better every day.”

there It was a short fear About the safety of new bosses.
Halfway through the practice, defensive intimidation: S Justin Reid went out to the injury tent with a coach. After some 15-minute stretches, Reed got on his helmet and ran back to the sideline. He did not enter the fray again, but the chief said he was “fine” after the exercise.

but at least Giving a novice player a chance to show his stuff.
The silver lining in lost time for Reid was that rookie Brian Cook got some cast working alongside Juan Thornhill. Steve Spagnuolo loves young players to have this practice time before a game.
Additional note: Although listed in S, Nazih Johnson works at CB, at Spags.

house too I noticed something About the end of a tight bull season.
On 7-on-7, I noticed that TE Noah Gray seems to be faster than he did last year. We probably won’t talk to him a bit, but I wonder if he’s getting a little thinner. We have selected Gray vs.
– Pete Sween (@pgsween) 28 July 2022
and again I noticed the sport From the team’s defender for the third year.
At 7-on-7, LB Willie Gay rushed for a ball and made a nice PBU on Patrick Mahomes’ custom JuJu Smith-Schuster ball. See more and more of those sports from Gay. This tandem between Jay and Nick Bolton would be fun.
– Pete Sween (@pgsween) 28 July 2022
This season, Jay and Bolton To be joined by a veteran In the second level.
Jay and Bolton’s third (current) man, Elijah Lee, forced a fumble during 7-on-7–easier to do with wet football on Thursday. WR Mecole Hardman had a hard landing likely due to a wet soccer ball within 7 seconds.
– Pete Sween (@pgsween) 28 July 2022
It was only recently re-signed, and the return of the third series last season Looking good on Thursday – As did the new veteran.
RB Jerick McKinnon mingled in a pass game through the red 7s. He goes right where he left off from ’21. Marquis Valdes-Scantling received a touchdown against Trent McDuffy during the RZ 7-on-7 run.
– Pete Sween (@pgsween) 28 July 2022
Valdes-Scantling looked like he would be better after leaving Green Bay behind – but so far, the former Pittsburgh Steelers are the He seems to be making the most of his new surroundings.
MVS had Day 2 better than Day 1, in my opinion, but Smith Schuster made today’s play for the second day in a row. During 11-on-11, Mahomes hit him deep in the middle of the field with CB Joshua Williams chasing after. JuJu broke up with Williams for an extended period of time.
– Pete Sween (@pgsween) 28 July 2022
Wednesday, Pete He made a mistake in determining the safety of the third year – and wanted Make sure that this Juan mistake will not be repeated.
To be clear, it was actually Williams, not Juan Thornhill, who defeated Smith-Schuster.
– Pete Sween (@pgsween) 28 July 2022
But Pete wasn’t the only Juan Thornhill on his mind.
In all seriousness, Spaggs was asked about J. Reed’s leadership, and Thornhill himself raised: “The man who stepped up is Juan Thornhill. I’m talking about him here from the point of view of communication and show management. That’s on himself.”
– Pete Sween (@pgsween) 28 July 2022
(And yes…we’re officially done with that Juan joke.)
Kansas City is starting to turn back finally got some action – but it can Provide a little explanation For the world’s shortest stay on the Active/PUP list.
Chiefs performed a handful of plays on Thursday, including RB Clyde Edwards-Helaire, who seemed to not know why he was on the PUP roster after training. He threw off the left leg sleeve he was wearing on Wednesday, so he’s totally fine. CEH also had a quote today.
– Pete Sween (@pgsween) 28 July 2022
But Edwards Heller Make it very clear How does he feel?
CEH: “I’m a thousand and 10 percent confident in my hands. I feel like one of the best passing players in terms of running back in the league, and I’m totally going to stand on that.”
Like Hardman, he kind of hinted that no Tyreek Hill would open up more pass-game opportunities.

Day three practice begins at 9:15 a.m. (arrowhead time) on Friday.
