EXCLUSIVE: Future plans for LIV Golf include a qualifying tournament

This week at the Trump National Golf Club in Bedminster, New Jersey, LIV Golf will hold its third event out of its inaugural eight-event schedule. Its 48-player stadium is mostly filled with players who have competed since the inaugural event in London, although many have been added along the way.

Next year, LIV Golf plans to play 14 events with a 48-player course, meaning 12 four-man teams will be the same throughout the season.

Sources with LIV Golf have outlined more specific plans to SI.com for its third season. In October 2023, after Season 2 is over and in preparation for Season 3, LIV Golf will eliminate four players and establish its own version of Q-School, called the Promotions Event.
