Alhorford’s brother calls”bulls-On a new report alleging that the Celtics offered a commercial package centered around Jaylen Brown to the Nets for Kevin Durant.
On Monday, Josh Horford tweeted a cover emoji — suggesting something was wrong — in response to a tweet from Athletic Club Sun Charania, which stated that Brooklyn had rejected Boston’s proposal and confronted it — demanding a bigger dose in exchange for Durant.
“You all confidently trust the same sources who said the Celtics had a huge argument with the team early in the season when they were eating a regular team breakfast,” Josh Wrote In one tweet Monday, adding in a separate message“My intuition is just telling me the report is excellent.”
Although Josh didn’t go into detail, he appears to be referring to a November 2021 report from ESPN that claimed the Celtics had an “players-only emotional meeting” following Marcus Smart’s comments about Brown and Jason Tatum not passing the ball.
Josh too noted in a tweet On Monday, Brad Stevens, the Celtics’ chief of basketball operations, said Brown “was” untouched “a few months ago.”
As the report about Boston shopping from Brown to Brooklyn made waves on Monday, the 6-foot-6 bouncer tweeted, “Poison him.”
According to The Athletic, the Celtics and Nets have been engaged in business talks about Durant, but they are nowhere near an agreement. Boston is said to have offered Brown, guard Derek White, and a draft pick for Durant. It looks like Brooklyn is back with a counter to include Brown, smart – defensive player of the year – draft picks, and possibly another rotation player at any suggestion.
Celtics are less inclined to include Smart alongside other multiplayer or select assets, though.
Durant, who will turn 34 in September, asked to leave Brooklyn in late June after the Celtics swept the nets in the first round of the playoff. He signed a four-year, $198 million extension with Nets last August. Meanwhile, Brown has two years left on his Boston contract.
The Horford family is known for their emotional tweets about the Celtics. During the NBA Finals, the big man’s sister, Anna, called up Warriors star Draymond Green for his physical style of play in the series.
