Don’t shoot the messenger. I just pass on the information my dentist gave me, and it made a huge difference in how healthy and feeling my teeth were.

In one of my last checkups, my dentist ran the regular questions she always asks. Do you brush your teeth twice a day? Do you floss after meals? Do you rinse? When I answered that last question with, “Yes, I rinse with mouthwash after I wash,” I immediately went into sermons about how mouthwash is a scam. Instead, she said, I should use a fluoride lotion.

Since I’m not a doctor, I won’t even try to explain to you in detail the difference between a standard mouthwash and a fluoride mouthwash or a fluoride mouthwash. What I can tell you, based on your dentist’s recommendation, is that a fluoride rinse or mouthwash can help strengthen your tooth enamel and that most regular mouthwashes do not.

My dentist told me to throw out the bottle of Listerine I was using and replace it with ACT Anticavity Zero Alcohol Fluoride mouthwash.

ACT Anticavity Zero Alcohol Fluoride Mouthwash, $4.29

I’ve been using ACT Anticavity Zero Alcohol Fluoride Mouthwash for several months now, and I have to admit my teeth have never looked better. The only thing different about my oral hygiene routine is the fluoride mouthwash, and my teeth look brighter, whiter and feel stronger. I also no longer have any tooth sensitivity – not even when I eat really cold things.

Amazon shoppers seem to generally agree with my dentist that ACT Anticavity Zero Alcohol Fluoride mouthwash is significantly better than regular mouthwash. It has over 6800 reviews and 4.7 out of 5 stars.

“I’ve always thought burn-in from Listerine does a better job,” one shopper wrote in their review. “But apparently, this is just marketing or something. Anyway, this one tastes better, doesn’t sting and gives more fluoride for stronger teeth. It’s a win for me, and I’ll continue to use this brand.”

Another shopper commented, “My dental hygienist advised me to use this mouthwash instead of mouthwash because it is alcohol-free. My sensitive gums and teeth have improved significantly with this and sensitive toothpaste.”

Before you buy another bottle of your regular mouthwash, DON’T DO IT! If you are skeptical about my Sinti and other Amazon reviewers, see your dentist. Or, just spend $4 and see the difference ACT Anticavity Zero Alcohol Fluoride Mouthwash makes. I will never go back to my regular mouthwash.
