Team Revenge Esports took the winners, while True Rippers and Entity took second and third place respectively in the first round of ESports Premier League Invitational Qualifiers to book their spots in the ESPL LAN Finals.

Besides, Team Reckoning and Walkouts comfortably finished fourth and fifth respectively to close their berths in the ESPL LAN Finals.

India’s top 16 highly talented teams competed in the first invitation round from July 9 to 17, with each of them playing 20 matches. The tour witnessed many exciting and wonderful matches between these major teams.

Revenge Esports, winners of the PUBG Mobile India Tour (PMIT) 2019, topped the table with a total of 230 points (end points – 99 + center points – 131) and 4 winners of the Winning Chicken Dinner (WWCD). Team star Akshay was the top performer on the final day with 44 finalists as well as the best player in the first round of invitation.

The True Rippers, who finished third in last year’s MediaTek BGMI Gaming Masters, took second place with 216 points (end points – 95 + center points – 121).

The entity took third place with 200 points (end points – 97 + center points – 103). The Mumbai-based esports team had previously won the Mafia Cup in 2019 and the PUBG Mobile Club Open – Fall Split: South Asia.

Reckoning Esports, who split from the previously successful BGMI roster earlier this year, competed with their new squad and were in the top spot after a stellar first week performance. Fourth place in the overall standings with 182 points (end points – 83 + center points – 99).

The team’s exit was the last team to reach the LAN Finals after accumulating 169 points (end points – 67 + center points – 102). They were equal on points with Gravity Esports but finished higher as they had three WWCDs compared to Gravity’s two.

“After the open qualifiers, we were happy to see the top teams compete strongly in the first round of the invitational qualifiers. These teams have raised the bar as most of them have succeeded in the past in various other tournaments. This attracts many spectators who are excited to see their favorite teams and players in action. I hope All five of these teams are doing well and I will be looking forward to seeing them play against the other qualifying teams in the LAN Finals.” Vishwaluk Nath, Director of ESPL, said after the results of the Invitational 1.

The league is played in two separate phases in the initial stage – online playoffs and invitational playoffs – to select the top 16 teams. The online qualifiers saw two underdog teams; GOG Esports and Dragon Esports reached the LAN Finals in what was their first appearance in the tournament.

The second stage of the invitational qualifiers starts from July 18 and will end on July 27. The last eight teams will qualify for the finals of this round of advocacy qualifiers.

Recently, ESports Premier League (ESPL) extended its association with youth icon and famous Bollywood actor Tiger Shroff as the face of India’s first franchise-based Esports League for the second year in a row. India Today Gaming has also engaged the global smartphone brand, TECNO Mobile, as sponsor of the tournament.

The smartphone maker is committed to supporting and helping the esports community with its game-focused smartphones like its latest, Tecno Pova 3. Esports fans can also watch the BGMI action live on India’s leading streaming platform, LOCO, the exclusive digital broadcast partner of ESPL Season 2 .
