Let’s get to Philadelphia Eagles links…
Fantasy football: 8 players who have improved dramatically for 2022 – PFF
QB JALEN HURTS, Philadelphia Eagles. Speaking of quarterbacks, few players have had the kind of boost that Hurts has done this season with the addition of Brown. Hurts is indeed a fictional cheat code due to his ability to impulsively – he was only ranked 16th last year in the passing score in PFF but 10th overall in the PFF score as well as the fantasy score. He was higher in points in every game. Mischief left plenty of flesh on the bone as a bystander, often failing to even target open receivers, but Brown brings something very different to the receiving wire — a dominant bodily specimen who has the tools to make things happen with the ball in his hands. He broke 40 tackles in three seasons while averaging over 6.0 yards after the catch. Brown will give Hurts a completely different kind of goal than he’s had to work with so far in his career, and those differences may make the Eagles QB more willing to put the ball in the air and seize some chances. If he did, he could emerge as a true midfield leader.
What NFL Analyst and Hall-of-Fame QB Wants to See Jalen Hurts of the Eagles Improve This Season – NJ.com
One of the people who has watched Hurts closely is NFL Network analyst and Pro Football Hall of Fame quarterback Kurt Warner. Warner told NJ Advance Media that Hurts brings a lot to the table as a quarterback but wants to see him develop specifically in one area. “I think the hope is that he’ll feel more comfortable playing on schedule in the pocket,” Warner told NJ Advance Media. “I think what we do know about Jalen is that his skill set lends itself to running game, area reading, and his ability to create and deliver great plays. But I always believe that all of these players, at playoff time, should be able to play inside the pocket. They should. Being able to play on schedule, make passes and then allow their own skill set to be special. That’s the area he has to improve.”
Philadelphia Eagles Boot Camp Preview: Can Galen Hurts Take the Next Step? – ESPN
Who is the most proven player? Receiver Galen Rigor. His first two years in the league didn’t go as well as hoped, with Rigor scoring 64 passes for 695 yards and three touchdowns over 28 games. Expectations for first-round picks are always high and he was knocked out of the game when the Eagles picked him ahead of receiver Justin Jefferson, who immediately blasted off with the Minnesota Vikings on his way to becoming a major league superstar. Regor is entering his third season having to fight for a role on the team. Brown and DeVonta Smith are wide 1 and 1 A receivers, followed by Quez Watkins and Zach Pascal, Sirianni’s favorite. Rigor is still only 23 years old and has a lot of abilities. But the clock is ticking for him to put it all together in an Eagles costume.
Jeff Lowry has spoiled generations of Eagles fans – BGN
The Miami Dolphins will wear a 50-year commemorative patch on their jerseys this season. Eagles do not. That’s because 50 years ago, the undefeated Dolphins, arguably the greatest team in NFL history, went into a 17-0 season and won Super Bowl VII in 1972. The Eagles’ 1972 arguably the worst in franchise history, He finished 2 11-1, with the largest points difference in the team’s 89-year history, losing at an average of 14.8 points per game. Imagine sitting through it? It could make you reconsider every time you feel cravings in your mouth, looking forward to biting someone’s head after losing the Eagles, watching a wrong pass from Galen Hurts, dropping DeVonta Smith, or Jason Kelsey waiting for the call, which can always be worse. . Because for many older Eagles fans, it was just that.
Eagles Training Camp 2022: Locks, Close Ups, Bubble Players, Long Bullets – PhillyVoice
This is truly the group to watch this summer, in terms of who will make up the team. The simple math above will show that the locks (34) plus the “close locks” (13) equal 47, leaving six points open in the final 53. These are the players vying for those six points (or more, if some of the players close to lock falter).
Spadaro: Eagles Training Camp Website Preview – PE.com
This is a room of talent and depth, and at the top with Jalen Hurts and Gardner Minshew, they have experience winning games at the NFL level. There aren’t many teams in the NFL that have two league-winning quarterbacks like Hurts and Minshaw. Hurts, of course, is the undisputed starter here for the second consecutive season, and he came out of 2021 producing nearly 4,000 attacking yards and 26 total touchdowns. Minshew is No. 2 and he showed his worth last season in the victory over the Jets, completing 20 of 25 passes for 242 yards and a pair of runs. Behind these two veterans is a pair of potential youngsters who are going to get a lot of acting over the summer. The Eagles claimed that Red Sennett suspended exemptions from Miami in late October after spending most of two seasons there on the coaching staff. Sinnett had an impressive career at the University of San Diego before signing with Tampa Bay as an uncharted rookie in 2020. Carson Strong signed with the Eagles after the 2022 draft after a very productive run in Nevada where he threw Strong for more than 9,000 yards and 74 touchdowns. How many midfielders will the Eagles keep in the 53-player roster? That’s the question heading into training camp, where Hurts has proven solid, Minshew is No. 2, and both Sinnett and Strong hope to show the coaches that they deserve a place on this list.
Eagles mailbag: Smash linebackers who go to training camp – NBCSP
Taylor definitely seems to be the forgotten guy in this group. Edwards played well last year and then the Eagles added White and Dean this off season. It was a shame that Taylor was injured last season and was unable to come back. Because he could really use all the reps he lost. When the Eagles drafted him in the third round in 2020, they knew he was tough. Having barely played as a starter, he was expected to be a starter in the second half of the 2021 season before getting injured. Taylor will be on the roster in 2022, and while his role will likely be reduced from what it was before his injury last year, it’s a product of depth at the center, not the Eagles’ feelings for him. And although I penciled in white as the will when passing the questions above, Taylor should have had a chance to beat the shots. Because Taylor is a super athlete and packs a punch for a man known for his athletic performance. I’m still fascinated by it.
The Cowboys Championship window can only be opened, not closed – Blogging The Boys
At this point last year, no one knew Micah Parsons would be a budding star in the NFL, or that Terrence Steele would have been able to step in right. Now is the time to evaluate this roster fairly from a football perspective, led by coaches feeling collective pressure to build on last year’s playoff position. The Cowboys haven’t been a playoff team in back-to-back seasons since 2006-2007, so starting as clear favorites in the division again is a good starting point. What they’ll do with it will be incredibly clear later, when we look back at how much was really lost when the team failed to defend their home ground at AT&T Stadium in last year’s playoffs.
Giants 53-man roster view: Guess the pre-training camp season-opening roster – Big Blue View
Having watched the early seasons of Ben McAdoo, Pat Shumur, Joe Judge, and now Brian Daboll as head coach for the New York Giants, there is one thing I know for sure. When it comes to predicting what the 53-player season’s opening roster will look like, we know almost nothing. New coaches – and new general managers – don’t have a track record. We don’t know exactly how they view the many players who were put off from the previous regime. We don’t know exactly what they’re looking for in depth about players. Even after watching the spring practices, we don’t know exactly who fits—and who doesn’t—which plans the team wants to implement. There will definitely be some amazing moves as the Giants make up their roster. There will likely be a bunch of confusion after the “ultimate” cuts to 53, once GM Joe Schoen sees veteran players cut by other NFL teams.
Leaders depth chart before training camp – Hughes Haven
Some teams have a very clear x, y and z structure for the top 3 wide receivers. This is not necessarily the case in Washington. Scott Turner has a great deal of flexibility in his offensive alliances. Curtis Samuel can play in the hole and out wide. In his best season as a pro (in Carolina), he was primarily used to the slot, but that was in 2020, when Ron Rivera and Scott Turner were training in Washington. Jahan Dotson spends OTAs and small camps lined up outside, but this was at practices without Terry McLaurin. The Dotson has the speed to extend the field, but it also has the attributes of an aperture receiver. Interestingly enough, McLaurin, who is mostly lined up wide, has been very productive in his limited shots as a slot receiver. Gibson and McKissic have the ability to align as receptors – usually in the slot, and Scott Turner likes to use tight ends in action in both running and passing game, often aligning TEs as slot receptors.
Roster moves: Jaguars sign QB Kyle Sloter, release QB EJ Perry – Jaguars
[BLG Note: Perry was originally set to join the Eagles as a UDFA signing but ended up in Jacksonville instead.]
Nick Chop Squats 610lbs on a Tsunami Bar – SB Nation
Like clockwork, we have another incredible “Nick Chappe Lifts Ridiculous Amounts” video. These always pop up during a break and increase in frequency until the start of boot camp, and somehow they just keep getting more and more awesome.
