Leavitt’s Buddy Pimplet tap came with a sad heart

Buddy Pemblet had to go through some adversity, but he went through the way he promised.

Pimblett (19-3 MMA, 3-0 UFC) had some difficulties for most of the first round against Jordan Leavitt (10-2 MMA, 3-2 UFC) in front of his raucous fans in England. But he came in strong late in the round, then in the second Levitt hit his knee before sinking into a naked choke from behind to end the fight.

Then, he said he learned of a friend’s suicide just hours before he weighed in at UFC Fight Night 208.

“That’s not me. This was sh*t. I’d rather you cry on my shoulder than go to your funeral,” Pemblett said before delivering a message of hope to end the stigma that men, in particular, can’t share their feelings without seeing them as a weakness.

The lightweight bout was part of the UFC Fight Night 208 main tag at The O2 in London.

Pemblete quickly pushed Levitt back with a kick, then threw another kick and propped him to the fence. When the pemplete rushed him, Levitt elbowed his way out and grabbed the pemplete and dropped it on the canvas. They quickly got back on feet, but Levitt kept holding on to him. Levitt fell down and swept the pimple with one leg and hit him with the cloth.

But he fell into the suffocation of a pimple guillotine. Pemblett tried to adjust his fist and lost it. Two minutes later, Levitt put the fight back on his feet, but remained tied up on Pemblet. Pemblet jumped for another attempt for the guillotine, but lost it in a hurry.

The audience told Levitt mid-round that his game plan was not appreciated. When Pemblett finally broke 45 seconds before the end of the round, Levitt tried to chase after him. But Pemblett hit a kick, then finished the round on top and worked for a choke on his own.

Leavitt worked early on the front kicks to keep his distance, then landed with a nice right hand. Leavitt worked to remove the serve again, but Pimblett stayed afloat. After a while, he allowed Lamplight to act to choke the arm triangle. Then his big knee landed. Pemblet wrapped him in a triangle of his body and trapped Levitt’s right arm in his legs.

He worked again to choke naked from behind and put his arm under his chin. It was tight, and soon Levitt had to click. Levitt never ended his career. The finish came at the 2:46 mark for the middle tire.
