Apple this week released software updates for all of its platforms, including iOS 15.6, iPadOS 15.6, macOS Monterey 12.5, watchOS 8.7, tvOS 15.6, and HomePod software version 15.6.

With iOS 16 and its peers just two months away, these updates don’t add any major new features. The most obvious addition to iOS 15.6, iPadOS 15.6 and macOS 12.5 this week is the ability to pause, rewind, fast-forward, or restart a live sports game. Also, Siri can now recognize Mandarin, Cantonese, and Japanese voices on the HomePod.
On top of that, it’s all about bug fixes, performance improvements, and other smaller tweaks.
Apple says iOS and iPadOS 15.6 fix an issue in accurately displaying device storage information in the Settings app and improve performance for braille devices when using Mail. Exclusively on the iPadOS side, we also fixed an issue where the 6th generation iPad mini wouldn’t detect USB-C accessories. And on all applicable platforms, Apple claims to have fixed “an issue in Safari where a tab might go back to the previous page”.

Apple has not included terms fixes or changes to watchOS or tvOS. All updates should already be available on all supported devices.
