Launch of “Choo-Choo to the Zoo”

SunRail and Central Florida Zoo & Botanical Gardens recently launched “Choo-Choo to the Zoo,” an exciting partnership that will provide kids, families, and animal lovers of all ages a fun way to visit the zoo this summer, without the use (or expense) to drive to the county’s popular destination. Leisure travelers can take the SunRail to its Sanford station, where they will find a free shuttle called “Choo-Choo to the Zoo” waiting to take them to the front gate of the Central Florida Zoo and Botanical Gardens in less than 15 minutes. Return bus times are determined with SunRail’s scheduled departure times from Sanford Station and posted to customers at the zoo’s drop-off areas.

“Over the past two years, we’ve seen a rise in the rate of recreational riding on SunRail,” said John E. Funding for the zoo wagon was made possible by a generous contribution from the Central Florida Zoo and Botanical Gardens.
