Galen Doreen, Kimba Walker to Pistons in a three-team trade

9:47 pm: ESPN’s Zack Lowe confirms (Via Twitter) that the Bucks’ 2025 first-rounder is headed to the Knicks in the deal. This means that the trade, as reported so far, looks like this:

  • Gaining pistons Galen Doreen And the Kimba Walker.
  • The Knicks take home the Bucks in the first round of 2025 (top four are protected; from the Pistons).
  • The Hornets had the 2023 first-round Nuggets pick (top 14 protected), the Knicks’ second-round pick 2023, the 2023 second-round Jazz’s pick, either the Mavericks or Heat’s 2023 second-round pick (whichever is more favorable), and the Knicks’ second-round pick Second round in 2024 (all from Knicks).

9:29 pm: According to Rod Boone of the Charlotte Observer (Twitter link), the Hornets receive the 2023 first-round Nuggets pick, the Knicks’ second-round pick 2023, Utah’s second-round pick 2023, either Dallas or Miami’s second-round pick in 2023 (whichever is more favorable), and the Knicks’ second-round pick 2024.

This second round all belongs to New York, while the first Nuggets team in 2023 (top 14 protected) was held by the Thunder – presumably one of the picks headed to the Knicks in Osman Deng trade.

Boone reports that the Bucks’ first driver of 2025 will move from Detroit to New York instead of Charlotte, but we’ll wait for further confirmation to be sure.

8:26 pm: The Hornets Memphis will trade center Galen Doreen to me pistons After being selected 13th overall in tonight’s draft, Bleacher’s Jake Fisher reports (Twitter link).

According to Fisher (Twitter link), it will be a three-team trade that also includes nicks. Sources tell Shams Charania about the athlete (Twitter link) sent by New York Kimba Walker Detroit as part of the trade.

However, it seems unlikely that Walker will stay with the Pistons for long, ESPN sources tell Adrian Wojnarowski (Twitter link) that the two sides are expected to discuss a purchase deal for the final year of his contract, which is worth $9.17 million next season.

James L. Edwards III of The Athletic is first mentioned (Via Twitter) that the deal was close, while Wojnarowski says (Via Twitter) that Charlotte captures Milwaukee’s 2025 first-round pick (top four protected) that Detroit receives from Portland in Jeramy Grant trade.

Meanwhile, Rod Boone of the Charlotte Observer reports (Via Twitter) that the Hornets get four picks in the second round in the deal. Details regarding this second round have not been reported, but it seems likely that most, if not all, of them are coming from the Knicks as part of the sinking price of Walker’s contract.

Duren averaged 12.0 PPG, 8.1 RPG, and 2.1 BPG in 29 games (25.3 mpg) during his first and only college season, earning the AAC Freshman of the Year honor and making the All-AAC Team First. He won’t turn 19 until November after graduating from high school a year earlier, making him one of the youngest players in the draft class.
