Cristiano Ronaldo is considering exiting Manchester United this summer due to their lack of a successful transfer business, according to reports in Portugal.
The star returned to Old Trafford last summer, 13 years after leaving for Real Madrid for a then world record fee, but it didn’t prove to be the glorious return he had hoped for.
Ronaldo scored 24 goals in 38 games in all competitions, but the team struggled to finish sixth in the English Premier League, amid criticism for its impact on their pressing abilities and overall cohesion.

Former Ajax coach Tin Hag (pictured) took charge in April and aims to rebuild a great team
The Portuguese veteran, 37, has a year left on his contract, and he and new coach Erik ten Hag, who replaced interim coach Ralph Rangnick in April, spoke enthusiastically about another season after the Dutchman carried out a rebuilding team.
But despite the interest in Darwin Nunez, who has joined Liverpool and Barcelona midfielder Frenkie de Jong and Ajax winger Anthony, the club still hasn’t signed a single deal.
And according to Portugal’s Record website, deeply frustrated Ronaldo is ready to withdraw from the northwest side due to their apparent lack of transfer ambition.
The club and Glazer owners (pictured) have yet to complete a single transfer this summer
The former Sporting Lisbon and Juventus star has reportedly issued an ultimatum to the club – “rise or I’m leaving”.
Ronaldo is said to have told his inner circle that the continued lack of transfers will cause him to start looking for another club.
He had previously told United’s website: “What I know about (Ten Hag) is that he has done a great job for Ajax, he is an experienced coach. But we have to give him time.
The Red Devils were interested in Darwin Nunez of Benfica, but he eventually joined Liverpool
Ten Hag and United have been closely linked with Barcelona midfielder Frenkie de Jong.
The coach is also keen to sign Brazilian winger Anthony (pictured) from the Eredivisie side
Things need to change the way he wants to. I hope that we will succeed, of course, because if it is successful, then all of Manchester will also succeed. I wish him the best.
We are happy and excited, not only as players, but as fans as well. I wish him the best and believe that next year we will win titles.”
Ajax defender Jorian Timber has already rejected a move after former United boss Louis van Gaal warned him about it, while derby youngster Malcolm Ebewe has reportedly turned down United in favor of Crystal Palace.
