Wild Dog Trailer: Nagarjuna promises a solid action movie

Tollywood star Chiranjeevi on Friday revealed the trailer for the upcoming action movie Wild Dog, in which Nagarjuna is starring. Sharing the joke, Chiranjevi tweeted: “A profound patriotic tale of a reckless team.” He wrote, “My brother Nag is brilliant and more energetic than ever he is a brave actor trying all kinds (sic)”.

Film director Ashishur Solomon’s Wild Dog was inspired by the real-life terrorist attack that rocked Hyderabad. The film traces the aftermath of the serial bombings that rocked Hyderabad in 2013. The government forms a team of elite tactical officers to track down and hunt down those responsible for the attacks.

The 2.24-minute video gives us a sneak peek into the action-packed artist that Solomon and the team made. Nagarjuna plays a cold-blooded killer who doesn’t think twice before injecting bullets at criminals. He has been called the Wild Dog for his efforts. He and his team make it their mission to kill the last terrorist to avenge the killing of innocent people.

The film was earlier scheduled to premiere on Netflix, as there was uncertainty about the reopening of theaters in Telugu states in the wake of the COVID-induced shutdown. Filmmakers have also been concerned about audience interest in going to the theater during the pandemic. However, all of their questions have been answered after the success of some of the films that have been out since January.

When Krack released Sankranti in theaters, he got a good set and was a huge hit. Then in February, we saw Uppena, starring in The New Faces, and being a huge hit. These films gave us confidence that if we made good films, people would support them. “So we withdrew from the OTT deal,” Nagarjuna said.

“Wild Dog has been designed, filmed and edited for the big screen experience,” he added. The filmmakers have indicated that Wild Dog will be available on Netflix 40-45 days after the movie’s release in theaters.

Besides Nagarjuna, the movie also stars Dia Mirza, Saiyami Kher and Atul Kulkarni. Wild Dog is scheduled to be released in cinemas on April 2.
