We found these cycling shoes to be very comfortable and we were amazed at how spacious and secure they were on our feet. Cycling shoes can traditionally feel cramped and cramped and often require you to turn up a size until you find what works for you, but that’s not the case with this shoe. The Venzo blends comfort and performance to create a versatile shoe that can handle riding on the road and still fit those sweaty cycling seasons. It’s compatible with all cleats, which means it’s perfect for your Peloton bike (Opens in a new tab)It also comes packaged with Look Delta cleats so you can hop right on your bike, ready to ride.
While the design of the Venzo may be hurt or lost by some, the price certainly isn’t, and we think these are well worth buying if you’re in the market for a new pair of Peloton shoes.

Price and availability
We found Venzo cycling shoes difficult to spot on the Venzo website, but these shoes are widely available on Amazon at varying prices between $80 and $100, delta cleats included. It’s a mid-range price point – cheaper than premium brands like Rafa cycling shoe (Opens in a new tab) And more in line with the Shimano RC1 cycling shoe. Venzos are available in a range of colors and are compatible with Look Delta and SPD cleats.
Design and Features
- Design grade and features: 3.0/5
We’re not fans of the bold Venzo cycling shoe design, and personally prefer the sleek, minimalist design of the Shimano RC1 cycling shoe and Nike’s SuperRep bike shoes. (Opens in a new tab). Although the shoes don’t win any awards for their precision, they are still a well-made addition to the Peloton footwear collection.
The synthetic upper is paired with a highly breathable, quick-drying, ultra-lightweight mesh upper with a removable sock liner. The Venzo is a low cut around the ankle to provide better range of motion, and the flexible forefoot allows some movement through your foot as well. Slanted high heels (often found in running shoes to reduce heel effect) are a nice touch but don’t feel necessary in a cycling shoe.
The Venzo cycling shoe comes with three wide Velcro straps, hook and loop fasteners, and Look Delta cleats. We prefer the BOA-dial system that is now replacing straps and laces in many modern cycling shoes, such as the Santic bike shoe. (Opens in a new tab)but although it looks old, the straps wrap and secure the foot with great efficiency, and our feet felt supported without slipping during the ride.
The Look Delta cleats have 9 degrees of float (which indicates the amount of movement available to your foot when clipped into the pedal.) The fixed cleats will provide a little give, but the 9 degrees provide roughly 4.5 degrees each direction for a more comfortable ride.
comfort
Speaking of comfort, these shoes smashed out of the park. The design thrives with a flexible forefoot, 9 degrees of floatation, and a low heel, all aimed at maximizing comfort and movement throughout your foot while maintaining stability along the outsole. However, this increase in flexibility can reduce the energy return and cycling efficiency that stiffer shoes provide. However, we felt the shoe remained firm during the push-and-pull phases of pedal revolutions, even with the extra flotation.
The Venzo’s soft leather tongue didn’t dig in or feel stiff, but the heel did start to bite throughout the endurance ride — but that wasn’t something that broke the deal. The main feature of this shoe was how wide and cushioned the shoe was. None of the other shoes we tested felt as roomy as the Venzos, and we couldn’t believe how quickly and easily they could be put on and taken off. Some of the tight shoes we tested required some awkward flashing around the room to get to, but these slipped right in, and the straps can be secured nicely and tight.
performance
- Performance score: 4.0 / 5
Venzo cycling shoes are lightweight, breathable and offer more give than other shoes we tested. Again, this could be one of two ways for avid cyclists who prefer a stiffer shoe, but we did enjoy having more bends available to our feet. The shoes fitted well into the pedals, and we felt our heels supported during our Tabata climb test as we raised the resistance. We would have liked the shoes to come with an instruction manual, but if you’re wondering “how do cycling shoes work (Opens in a new tab)? Our go-to guide provides all the answers you need.
money value
- Value for money score: 4.0/5
At $100 (with cleats), these shoes are great value for money. The Santic bike shoe is about the same price, but it’s only Delta compatible and doesn’t come with cleats.
Rule
Overall, we rate these shoes highly as one of the best Peloton cycling shoes. It’s very versatile, comfortable and won’t cost you an arm and a leg for the privilege.
alternatives
If these aren’t your style, Shimano RC1 cycling shoes are similarly priced and have a subtle design. They’re praised for their comfortable glove-like fit, but we recommend purchasing a size up to safety.
If you’re happy to increase your budget, the Rava Cycling Shoe (above) is our premium choice and offers buyers a luxury cycling shoe experience and a more traditional cycling look.
