After several major festival performances this week, Morgan Wallen He went to play golf with one of the heroes of country music, Eric Church.
The East Tennessee-born and “Wasted On You” singer used social media Wednesday night (June 22) to share photos from his golf outing with church.
Wallen shared a series of six photos from a golf outing at Cypress Point Club, a private west coast golf club along California’s central coast. by club Wikipedia, The club has one 18-hole course, one of eight on the Monterey Peninsula near Monterey.
“It would be very difficult for me to top this trip,” Wallen commented on the photo series.
The first and second photo shows Wallen, dressed in black pants, a white hat, and a salmon polo shirt, standing Oceanside on the golf course, which offers some visually stunning views. The following photo from the series shows Elaine Church and another golfer walking down the course.
In the fourth photo in the six-part series on Instagram, Wallen and Church, wearing a hat with Church’s Nashville bar Chief’s logo, are seen standing side by side smiling before striking some bonds together.
This isn’t the first time the two country stars have played golf together. In June of 2021, Wallen shared a photo with Church in a golf cart at another course, captioning it, “Marry them to the Southern boys.”
Wallen and Church also previously spent some time together fishing with Church in late April 2021.

The country star couple and old friends recently shared a full moment together when Wallen worked as a direct supporter of the church at US Bank Stadium in Minneapolis.
After the show in Minnesota, Wallen took to social media to reflect on the defining moment and share what it was like to be a whole experience where it was Church who inspired him to chase his musical dreams.
“8 years ago I went to my first concert. It was Eric Church’s concert at the Thompson Boling Arena. His energy and fan energy ignited that night in Knoxville, Tennessee. I knew at the time that I wanted to create something real and authentic like what I saw with him and his fans,” Wallen shared it on Instagram at the time.
“Fast forward for 8 years, E is a close and dear friend of mine, and I shared the stage with him last night,” Wallen continued at the time. “I would like to think that maybe some of these people were at the Thompson Bowling Arena with me in 2014, they were with me last night also at US Bank Stadium.”
The best-selling platinum star closed his post with a letter of gratitude to the fans.
He added, “Moments like this make me really grateful for this life and for this music that I make everywhere.” “Thank you guys for making this possible.”
Morgan Wallen detailed his friendship with Eric Church during a recent interview
Wallen previously opened up about performing alongside Church, calling it one of the “greatest honors” of his career to date.
He later detailed his friendship with Church during an interview with Lon Helton on Countdown country USA.
“We started hanging out after that, I don’t know, we became buddies. I guess we kind of had a similar situation or whatever,” the East Tennessee native explained to the Hilton. “I know he hasn’t been out in public and has a lot of friends and has always been the hero of my country music; it’s one of the main reasons I sing country music.”
He continued how church music inspired him as an artist and songwriter.
“When I started getting so deeply involved in country music, it was the songwriting and the way he painted the pictures that made me want to do the same,” Wallen said. “So it’s really cool to see him as a true friend now. I’ve always liked him.”
In a separate interview, Church spoke with Hilton about his friendship with Wallen and praised him as a person and artist.
“There are a lot of these guys that I’ve become friends with,” Church said, before detailing their friendship. “With Morgan, we talk weekly. The thing I love about him is that he’s a real and honest person. We enjoy spending time together. We go fishing, we write songs, and it becomes an elegant friendship for me.”
Wallen also recently surprised fans during his concert in Nashville in March 2022 with a special performance of two songs alongside Church. The pair performed “Smoke A Little Smoke” and “Quittin’ Time” for church, a song Church co-wrote with Luke Laird and Josh Thompson for the record-breaking Wallen Project, Dangerous: the double album.
Additionally, Eric Church and Morgan Wallen are set on different dates for the Faster Horses Festival in Brooklyn, Michigan from July 22-24. The festival will also feature a notable performance by Tim McGraw.
