Buffington Mohr McNeill welcomes Dan Potter to his advisory group

Boise, Idaho – (work wire) – Buffington Mohr-McNeil, a Boise-based wealth management firm, welcomes Dan Potter as its newest wealth management advisor starting July 1, 2022. Dan was previously the head coach of men’s golf at Boise State University and has prior corporate financial advisory experience as Senior Vice President of Griffin Capital Securities, LLC in Northern California from 2006 to 2012.

Potter spent eight seasons with Boise State and was the 2021 Mountain West Coach of the Year. He led the Broncos to back-to-back NCAA regional appearances in 2020-21 and 2021-22. The Broncos won five championships under Potter. The student-athletes coached by Potter have earned two All-America Awards, two Conference Golfer of the Year awards, four All-Conference Picks, one Conference Student of the Year award, and 11 singles championship titles, including two conference medals.

Originally from Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, Potter played collegiate golf for the University of Washington from 2000 to 2004, helped UW teams reach 4 national championships and was a selection at the All Pac-10 Conference in 2004. He holds a BA in Politics Science . He was the assistant coach of men’s golf for the Husky before taking over at Boise State in 2014.

Dan’s interests include anything outdoors with his wife Julia; Golf, ski, fly fishing and chase their team of three girls: Josie (5), Haley (3) and Hana (2). He consistently supports numerous charities and events including the Brad Duke Windfall Classic, Brian Scott and Graham Delight at Idaho Youth Ranch Invitational, Boise State COBE, John Borbonus (Bravehearts) Memorial, and Big Brothers Big Sisters of SW Idaho.

Dan will be responsible for developing new client relationships as well as helping the company’s existing clients define and implement their wealth management strategy.
