New NCAA panel prepares to turn college sports on its head

Imagine a college sports world where schools can offer every baseball player a full scholarship. Or if the field training staff exceeds 25 people.

The Transformation Committee, a group of high-ranking university leaders tasked with reforming and modernizing NCAA governance, is examining revolutionary changes that some administrators describe as “radical.” At a briefing with sports officials this week in Dallas, committee leaders revealed ideas for liberalizing the old NCAA bylaws and decentralizing such decisions at conferences.
